ABOUT ME

I am  a PhD candidate  in Dr. Christian Cox's lab  at Florida International University. My current research focuses on the evolution of feeding mechanisms in reptiles. I am especially interested in snakes that feed on unusual food items and the behavioral or morphological adaptations that allow them to do so. I study organisms in diverse ecosystems from south Florida to west Texas and Panama.

I completed my Master of Science in Dr. Bruce  Jayne's lab at the University of Cincinnati where I studied the feeding behavior and morphology of crayfish-eating snakes. As an undergraduate, I was a research assistant in Dr. Steve Yanoviak's lab at the University of Louisville where I studied the behavior and biomechanics of swimming ants.
